An Elegant Posture

A healthy posture when sitting or standing is upright but without bracing or stiffness; it is not the call to attention from a Sergeant Major!

To support ourselves in relaxed uprightness does require some strength, but importantly, some awareness of our anatomy so we align ourselves well and efficiently. When we align the skeleton through our centre of gravity it will support us in posture with economical use of our muscles. For this to happen we require a combination of strength for support and enough flexibility so that tight muscles don’t pull us off centre.

Get to know your centre of gravity in movement and align through it to economise your energy output in maintaining an open, upright and elegant posture.

Be at comfortable in your body and play well for the long game.
